SIGNATURE DESIGN SERVICE

We love working with clients on projects ranging from whole-room designs to whole-home designs.  Each project is unique because each client has their own individual style.  We strive to interpret your style into a personal and luxurious home that is livable and uniquely yours.

Our process takes you from a vision based on your needs, wants, and personal taste to a fully realized, beautiful home designed to bring balance and harmony to the spaces you live in.

We serve our clients with thoughtfulness and attention to detail to ensure that it all flows together as seamlessly as possible. Our goal is “satisfaction by design” as we guide you through the design process from beginning to end.

AN OVERVIEW OF OUR PROCESS

Because we wish to build a lasting relationship with you, we feel it is important for you to know and understand the process we follow with each project.  Much of the work on the design of your home takes place long before the first purchase or the installation. What follows is an overview of our 15-step design process broken into phases.  You will receive a more detailed version at our first in-person meeting.

Phase 1 – Information Gathering

First is our Discovery Call where we discuss the type of project in which you want to invest.  After this call, you will receive an email with our Interior Design Questionnaire.  This is so that I can learn about your needs, style likes and dislikes, and what makes you comfortable in your home. Next we meet in your home for a Design Work Session to further develop a vision for your space. This includes estimating a budget and developing a flexible timeline for completion.

Phase 2 – Research & Concept

After our initial meeting, we will draw up a  Design Service Contract which outlines the project and design fees.  This is when the first retainer payment will be due. Installation fees are not part of this contract.  You will also receive a conceptual mood board that includes imagery to give a general feel of the space as requested. This is not a final design concept.

Phase 3 – Design Presentation

This phase includes detailed design concept drawings, including elevations and 3D renderings. Custom furniture designs (if any), built-ins, layouts, color fabric, and furniture selections.  In-person presentation of design concepts, materials, and specifications.  A budget proposal based on the given selections will also be presented for approval. The remainder of the retainer will be due in this phase.

Phase 4 – Procurement

We will finalize all selections and upon approval of the master design plan, we will begin painting, fabrication, and order or purchase items agreed upon.  Invoices for items to be purchased must be signed and paid in full in advance.  We will schedule a Trade Day to help you choose your contractor and any fees will be paid directly to the trade by you.  We will keep you updated of all progress through email and scheduled in-person meetings. We supervise delivery of materials and consult on installation by the trades.  This is the phase that takes the most time.

Phase 5 – Installation

Large items will be delivered to a receiving company.  All associated charges will be included in the purchase price of each item.  We coordinate the delivery to your home with the vendor and you.  We will inspect each item before signing.  Small items will be delivered to us and inspected at time of delivery.  Once all items ordered have been received, we will schedule the final installation date(s).  Payment for installation is due at the time of completion.  We also schedule a walk-through after installation for presentation of the client binder and any further questions you may have.
