What does an interior designer do?
Interior designers make indoor spaces functional, safe, and beautiful by determining space requirements and selecting essential and decorative items, such as colors, lighting, and materials. They must be able to draw, read and edit blueprints. Interior Decoration is the furnishing or adorning of a space with fashionable or beautiful things.
Why should I hire an interior designer?
At first, it may seem like you’re paying extra because you’re going to have to pay the designer’s fee, but in reality, hiring a designer can help you avoid costly mistakes and help you make the right design decisions that will increase the value of your home.
What type of projects can you do?
We provide a variety of services from two-hour Design Work Sessions; online design; materials selection for renovations, remodels, and new builds; accessories shopping; custom furniture, window treatments, upholstery, and wrought iron gate design; home staging; and full service interior design.
Can you manage the entire project?
Since we are not a design/build company we do not project manage renovations, remodels, or new build homes. However, we can and do work alongside your contractor or architect in a consulting capacity to ensure that your project stays true to the design that you approved.
Is any project too small?
We believe that no design project is too small. We offer designer fabrics, custom window treatments, and furniture that you can order through Diva by Design without having to purchase an entire design package. We also offer a design advice service where you send pictures of your space and we answer up to three questions about that room by email for $175.
Is there a contract?
Yes. We ask that you sign either a Letter of Agreement or a Design Contract depending on the scope of the project. This contract describes the work to be done, our terms of service, and client expectations. We also require a signed Procurement Agreement before any purchasing is done through Diva by Design.
Can you work with me if I don’t live near you?
Yes! I have worked all over the Rio Grande Valley as well as outside of South Texas. Places I have worked include League City, Texas, Houston, Texas, and Owasso, Oklahoma. Plus, I have an online design service that is perfect for those who live outside of the Rio Grande Valley.
